Parents and Babies
What we offer
We explore a range of instruments, sounds and songs with you and your baby to encourage interaction and bonding. By providing a fun, interactive experience, and with the help of a fully qualified music therapist, we support parents’ well-being and encourage playful connections. Sessions may help to reduce symptoms of perinatal depression, stress and postpartum pain.
How it happens
We meet in small groups for around 45 minutes in a comfortable, supportive space and explore making music together – no previous musical experience is necessary. The music therapist tailors the sessions and activities to each group.
Activities
Songs – singing a range of songs specifically for babies including nursery rhymes; we welcome sharing the songs you love to sing with your baby at home.
Improvising together – using a range of instruments including bells, shakers, drums and guitar to experiment with and create your own music.
Discover new sounds with your baby – we have a selection of more unusual instruments to play such as thumb pianos, ocean drums and singing bowls. Experiencing a wide range of sounds can be beneficial for babies as they learn and develop.
