Our music therapists run singing groups and choirs within care homes for elderly people including those with dementia, bringing a wide range of health and social benefits. These popular groups are carefully run to support and encourage the members and perform for family and friends.
Feedback from singing group members and staff
"It makes us feel like one group - connected"
"Makes me smile, makes me happy. When I sing I smile"
"The singing group has become one of the highlights of the week. To watch and hear how the group has developed has been really remarkable - residents interact with each other and help one another with the songbooks and lyrics. The positive atmosphere spills over long after the session has ended. Staff have gained in confidence and spontaneous singsongs are very frequently heard around the building. Music is very much a part of daily life for us all."
